About the crop
Parsley is one of the most widely used herbs in Turkish cooking and is sold at the market by the bunch. More than half of Turkish output comes from Hatay.
Growing difficulty: Easy It grows quickly and needs little care.
- Growing regions
- Hatay leads Turkish production (63.5%), followed by Eskişehir (10.6%) and Antalya (3.1%) (TurkStat, 2024). Total national output is about 126,000 tonnes.
- Cultivation
- Grown mainly in the open field; in Antalya it is also produced under cover (greenhouses, high tunnels) as a winter herb.

- At high relative humidity (95–100%) it keeps for about 3 weeks at 0°C and about 2 weeks at 5°C.
